ACCESS Home Modifications is happy to announce we’ve been selected as a finalist in the 2008 Nonprofit Innovation Awards, sponsored by the Central Penn Business Journal, the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, the Lancaster County Community Foundation and the York County Community Foundation.

The awards are a statewide competition seeking to recognize local 501(c)(3) organizations demonstrating innovation in their day-to-day operations in five different categories: Brand Identity/Unique Marketing Campaign, Collaboration, Management Operations, Programs and Nonprofit Leadership Excellence.

ACCESS was recognized for its submission to the Collaboration category, entitled Collaboration Creates Accessible Housing.  The entry showed how UDS has managed to assemble a county-wide collaboration of partners without a history of working together to create innovative accessible housing solutions for Lancaster County that none of the partnering agencies could have achieved while working alone.

Although the awards ceremony portion of the program was cancelled this year, look for ACCESS to be profiled along with 21 other finalists in a feature article appearing in the April 25th issue of Central Penn Business Journal.  We hope this additional media exposure for the program will help us to reach more people who can benefit from our services.
