Design Consultation
Services

ACCESS offers accessibility design and contractor management services to homeowners and landlords who do not meet the income eligibility requirements of government-funded services. The services provided are identical to those offered through our various state and local government service contracts, which require high accountability and low price.  Our services are designed to make sure families and people with disabilities get the modifications they need from a reliable contractor capable of high-quality workmanship.

Services

Individual Needs Assessment
Our professional staff will provide an individual needs assessment to determine what needs can be met through home modifications, assistive technology, or low-cost standardized solutions.

Home Evaluation
We review your home for potential modifications and perform a visual inspection to determine the general condition of your home, possible maintenance issues, and zoning code violations which could potentially cost you money during municipal inspections of your construction project.

Modification Feasibility Assessment
ACCESS will perform a feasibility study to see if space and conditions are appropriate for your desired modification.   The study includes a cost estimate and assessment of how the modification may effect your home’s resale value and overall appearance.

Housing Support Services
ACCESS is often the entry point for housing and disability support services for many people.   ACCESS can evaluate a person’s independent-living functioning and eligibility criteria for care provider funding sources.

Certified Contractors
Our certification process for contractors is designed to protect you.  It includes successful completion of a competitive bidding process, insurance, and accountability on quality, work crew courtesy and timeliness.   Additionally, we use a detailed construction contract to protect you.

Cost Effectiveness
United Disabilities Services purchases over $500,000 of modifications each year. Because of this volume, we can use our purchasing power to get you the best deal possible.  We look for contractors who provide serviceable, high-quality modifications at the lowest cost available.

Fees
The estimate you receive from the Contractor will be your total cost, binding for 30 days,  and there will be no additional fees for our assessment and evaluation services.
