July 2007 - Colin Sellard is planning a chicken Bar-B-Que to benefit CHOICES, September 8, 2007. Please offer him all the support that you can when he asks you for help. He has tickets which are on sale now. Please take as many tickets as you can sell. It sounds like a fun event and hopefully we will raise substantial funds for CHOICES.
First Presbyterian Church's security policy is working pretty well. Some people are not letting CHOICES know when they will be absent or late. If we know when you will be late we can provide a person to keep the Cherry Street doors open for you but we have to know. We open the doors at 8:00am and lock them at 9:30am. Remember if you are going to be later than 9:30am and haven't let us know, you need to enter the front of the church or the back entrance off the parking lot. We will reopen the doors at 2:00pm when RRTA starts picking up participants to go home.
Remember when you are not going to travel on RRTA home you need to cancel your ride with RRTA at least a minimum of a couple of hours before the scheduled trip. If you are not going to travel with us on RRTA when we do our outings you need to let me know preferably Monday morning. I set up our transportation for our Wednesday outings on Monday morning at about 9:00am.
The first Travel Club trip of the new cycle will be to the Philadelphia Art Museum on July 27, 2007. There are four wheel chair tie downs left and three seats left on the UDS vans. You can also drive yourself and meet us there. CHOICES will pay your entrance fee and you can bring up to two guests. Sign up sheets are in the main program room.
July brings a 3% increase in dues. If you did not read the June newsletter your July bill reflects the increase. The Advisory committee took these steps so that we don't have to raise dues substantially later. We will raise them a little at a time instead of one big jump in dues.
See you next month.
