If you have a friend, family member or associate with a disability you have some small understanding of the challenges they face on a daily basis and the help they need to live a safe, happy and independent life. Whether a young boy in a wheelchair or an aging woman who can only get around using a walker, these individuals, despite their amazing courage, have to rely on others because of their disabilities. We are proud to say that the big hearts and innovative spirit of UDS are here to help them and their families. But we need your help, too. We are not just another disability charity asking for help; we have a proven track record of helping people with disabilities in communities across Pennsylvania improve their lives.
Please help us help others
We are a Pennsylvania-based not-for-profit organization with the knowledge and experience to make a difference. But the sad truth is that frequently the people who need our service can't afford the help they need. Many of the important services UDS provides to individuals with disabilities and the elderly are possible only through the generous contributions of local individuals and businesses. That's why we're asking that you open your heart and make generous gift that will help us help those who otherwise might face institutionalization or lives without the dignity and happiness they deserve.
Give what you can
Every gift, large and small, is important. Take comfort in knowing that 94 cents of every dollar goes directly to the services and programs that benefit individuals with disabilities. There are many ways to contribute - donations, sponsorships, planned giving, workplace giving, through our capital and endowment campaigns, and by volunteering. If you would like more information about how your money will be used, call our Development Office at 800-995-9581.
Direct your gift
We touch so many lives in so many ways. When you make a gift to UDS you can be sure your money will enrich lives right here in our community. Every dollar benefits someone with a disability that threatens their independence. You can make a gift to support the overall efforts of UDS or you can direct your gift to an area where you share a passion.

In addition, it supports in-home personal care, care management, accessible home modifications, durable medical equipment and other services. Rest assured that your donation will improve lives in Central Pennsylvania.
2. KIDS WITH DISABILITIES

3. UDS SERVICE DOGS
These amazing dogs bring hope and happiness into the lives of people with disabilities. They help people with a mobility disability to live more independently by assisting with daily tasks, such as opening and closing doors, turning lights on and off, picking something up off the floor, retrieving and delivering, and even getting something out of the refrigerator. And these remarkable dogs become affectionate best friends. Dog giving can be so rewarding.
The cost to train and place a service dog is enormous - upwards of $20,000. UDS relies on dedicated volunteers and the generous support of caring people to make them affordable to those who need them. Make UDS Service Dogs your pet cause.
