Personal Care Attendant – AE Program

General Summary:

Under the direction of the Adult Enrichment Program Management Team, the Personal Care Attendant will provide personal care, educational support, community integration and daily living skills instruction to our Participants.  The Personal Care Attendant will also provide ancillary services based on the specific needs outlined in the Participant’s individual support plan.  Ancillary services may include but are not limited to: assistance in writing and/or typing on a computer, telephoning assistance, turning pages, etc.

Hours: Part-time, Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm


Facilitates health maintenance activities which may include but are not limited to: transfers, ROM (Range of Motion) exercises, or other duties as outlined in the individual’s support plan and performs these tasks at a level that meets the agency’s expectations.

Assists with the activities of the individual in the Adult Enrichment program as described in the individual’s support plan such as hygiene, grooming, eating, toileting, positioning, educational activities, personal growth activities, advocacy and any other activities or outcomes as stated in the individual’s support plan while demonstrating concern for others in words and actions.  Demonstrates sensitivity and empathy to the needs of others and displays kindness and caring.  This may include arranging for one-on-one life skills activities or one-on-one instruction for the individual.

Provides community integration services as described in the individual support plan to enable the individual to plan for and engage in meaningful activities.


High school diploma or GED required.

At least six (6) months of experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.

Additional Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age.  Must possess required skills to perform personal care services as specified in the individual’s support plan.  Must have basic math, reading and writing skills.  Must have reliable transportation.  Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and must be able to interpret nonverbal communications based on the individual’s needs.

Must have a favorable pre-employment drug screen result
