Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Manager oversees and performs all aspects of the payroll function ensuring timely, accurate and effective processing of payroll disbursements for all employees in compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations and requirements, as well as, internal policies and procedures. These responsibilities include payroll processing, accounting, reporting, and compliance.
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for the following:
Processing payroll system inputs including new hires, changes in salary, overtime, terminations, benefits, tax withholdings, annual elections, etc. for all salaried, hourly employees
Timely and accurate processing for all payroll functions including the preparation, processing, and disbursement of all regular and off-cycle payrolls, incentive compensation, deferred compensation, payroll taxes, and employee benefit payments as well as deductions
Payroll accounting including cost distributions, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Periodic and year-end reporting including ACA and W2′s
Provide payroll data to others for pension plans; payroll taxes; compliance testing, etc.
Supervise one Staff Accountant; schedule work, manage overtime, cross-train personnel and manage personnel actions.
You must have the following qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or economics
3-5 years’ payroll managing experience, including staff management
Certified Payroll Professional designation is desired
Experience with Sage 100 Payroll system is highly preferred
