Facilities Supervisor

General Summary

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Facilities Supervisor is responsible to ensure the day-to-day facilities maintenance and fleet management responsibilities are met for all UDSF properties.


Effectively manages time and all assigned activities for appropriate balance among all duties; maintains compliance with agency and department specific policies and procedures and legal and regulatory issues relating to area(s) of responsibility.

Coordinates with Office Manager on facility and building maintenance needs.  Performs maintenance and upkeep of all buildings at Corporate Campus as well as maintenance at all UDSF off-site locations, including but not limited to A/C, heating, and simple plumbing.  Quarterly inspections of each location to inspect fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, smoke detectors, GFI’s, and exit signs where applicable and check and stock first aid stations

Oversees fleet maintenance; performs minor maintenance and schedules other regular maintenance, inspections, tires, etc., for all UDSF owned and leased vehicles.

Coordinates and monitors cleaning and janitorial services for all facilities.  Assists Manager in budget process for facilities and transportation.  Takes responsibility for warehouse and inventory management including shipping/receiving and maintenance of tow motor; Stocks and orders building maintenance supplies, manages invoices and receipts.  Serves as liaison and point of contact to negotiate issues and challenges with the landlords of all UDSF facility locations.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED.  Technical training in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and electrical applications.  Maintains job-related competencies by attending agency and position-specific external training courses.

Has a minimum of 5 years building maintenance experience to include excellent working knowledge of hands on experience in carpentry plumbing, heating and air conditioning and electrical applications.  Has experience in logistics and asset, warehouse and fleet organization and management.
