United Disabilities Services has established an employee activities Committee for the purpose of improving current organizational activities and creating new activities. The committee is responsible for the planning, organizing and managing of these activities. The work of this committee improves employee participation and morale within the organization. The committee has specific responsibilities that include:

1) Representation by supervisors and staff, meet on a monthly basis, take and maintain minutes of each meeting and off-site locations should be represented.
2) Establish a system to receive and review employee activity suggestions.
3) Receive and review new ideas and complaints regarding employee activities by committee members as well as other employees and make recommendations for changes.
4) Ensure follow-up on recommendations whether enacted or not.
5) Conduct a yearly review of current activities for effectiveness.
6) Establish budget guidelines for employee activities that are reasonable and within the agency's ability to fund.

MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS:
1) Each member is elected for a 3-year term on the employee Activities Committee.
2) Attendance is required. If you are unable to attend please notify the Chairperson.
3) All committee members are expected to take an active role, complete projects as assigned, report back to department co-workers on appropriate information and solicit suggestions from co-workers to be brought back to the Committee.
4) all agenda items should be submitted to the Chairperson at least one week prior to the meeting. The Secretary will distribute the agenda and previous month's minutes one week prior to the meeting.
5) The secretary is responsible for preparing the agenda, typing and distributing the minutes, including committee members who are not present.
6) Any resignations to the Committee must be submitted in writing and to the Chairperson.
